Overview
Spain has a vibrant orienteering community, with active clubs, national leagues and international competitions throughout the country. The sport is particularly well established in regions such as Catalonia, Valencia, Castilla y León and Aragón, where varied landscapes provide excellent opportunities for forest and sprint racing. For visiting orienteers, Spain combines challenging navigation with a rich cultural experience and a remarkably long competition season. While northern Europe is covered in snow, many Spanish regions offer ideal conditions for racing. From rocky hillsides and open pine forests to medieval towns and volcanic islands, Spain has something to offer almost every type of orienteer.
